As an important welding auxiliary device, roller racks play a key role in the fields of container barrel assembly and welding. It mainly drives the cylindrical weldment to rotate through the friction between the weldment and the active roller, thereby realizing the welding operation of different parts of the weldment.

    In practical applications, there are various types of roller frames. According to user requirements, rollers are divided into three forms: rubber wheels, steel wheels, and steel-composite rubber wheels. Different types of rollers are suitable for different working scenarios. Rubber wheels have a certain elasticity and can reduce damage to weldments to a certain extent; steel wheels are more durable and suitable for heavier weldments; steel-composite rubber wheels combine the advantages of both and have better adaptability.

    Roller racks are widely used in many industries, such as wind power, pressure vessels, petrochemical pipelines, steel structures, boilers, shipbuilding, surfacing repair, etc. In these industries, roller racks can realize automatic displacement and positioning of welded parts, greatly improving welding quality and production efficiency. For example, in the wind power industry, large tower welding requires high-precision roller racks to ensure the quality and stability of welding; in pressure vessel manufacturing, roller racks can help achieve the welding of the circumferential seams and longitudinal seams of the container, improving welding efficiency.

    At the same time, the transmission device of the roller frame is usually composed of a motor, a reducer and a chain. The motor drives the chain through the reducer, which in turn drives the active roller to rotate, realizing the smooth rotation of the coil. In addition, the transmission device also has a stepless speed regulation function, which can adjust the speed according to actual needs to meet different process requirements.

Main classification and characteristics

(I) Self-adjusting roller frame

    The self-adjusting roller frame is suitable for the welding of circular cylinders. It can be adjusted according to the size of the cylinder. There are many specifications for users to choose from. Large tonnage can be designed and manufactured on behalf of customers. Its main features are as follows:

    1. The roller group swing angle is automatically adjusted according to the diameter of the workpiece. No manual adjustment is required. It can automatically adjust the center, which improves the accuracy and efficiency of welding.

    2. The active roller adopts gear meshing transmission, which is stable and reliable.

    3. Steel-rubber combination rollers, large tonnage uses all-steel rollers, with large load-bearing capacity and strong driving ability. For example, in the industrial welding of some large pressure vessels, the self-adjusting roller frame can stably carry and drive the workpiece to ensure the welding quality.

    4. The variable frequency speed regulator has a wide adjustment range, large starting torque, and high adjustment accuracy, which can meet the requirements of different welding processes.

    5. The operation is simple and reliable, which greatly reduces the workload of operators.

(II) Adjustable roller rack

    1. There are three types of adjustable roller racks: manual screw adjustable, manual bolt shift type and electric slide shift type. By adjusting the center distance of the roller, it is suitable for cylinders of different diameters.

    2. According to the drive form, it can be divided into: cycloid type and worm gear type. Different drive forms are suitable for different working scenarios.

    3. According to user needs, the roller can be made into: rubber wheel, polyurethane wheel, steel-rubber combination wheel, steel wheel to meet the requirements of different workpieces for roller materials.

    4. The adjustable roller rack can be made into manual/electric walking roller rack, hydraulic tilting roller rack, anti-slip roller rack, combined roller rack, lifting roller rack, etc., which has strong adaptability.

(III) Non-self-adjusting roller stand

    Non-self-adjusting roller stand adjusts the roller spacing by moving the roller seat on the bracket. It is mainly used in specific occasions, such as some welding operations that require a relatively fixed roller spacing. Although its adjustment method is relatively simple, it can provide stable and reliable performance in some specific working environments. For example, in the welding of some small workpieces, non-self-adjusting roller stands can provide stable support and rotation to ensure welding quality.

(IV) Anti-slip welding roller frame

    The anti-slip welding roller frame makes the roller of the driven frame liftable on the basis of the adjustable roller frame, uses the photoelectric encoder to detect the slippage of the workpiece, and the system controller controls the lifting and lowering of the driven roller.

    1. The displacement detection frame is placed at one end of the workpiece, and the detection wheel is pressed on the end face of the workpiece (the end face must be processed). The detection wheel can rotate with the workpiece. When the workpiece moves axially, the detection wheel will rotate with the workpiece, and the photoelectric encoder detects the slippage and slippage direction of the workpiece.

    2. Its signal is input to the system controller for processing. The controller will adjust the lifting stroke, lifting speed and lifting interval time of the driven roller according to the size of the slippage, and control the lifting or lowering according to the slippage direction. The slippage of the workpiece always fluctuates between - 1.5mm and + 1.5mm. In this way, the slippage of the workpiece is limited to a certain range, which can meet the needs of welding. For example, in some high-precision welding operations, the anti-slip welding roller frame can effectively prevent the slippage of the workpiece and improve the welding quality.
